Ag Research Kō

AgResearch, as a Crown Research Institute in New Zealand, plays a significant role in advancing agricultural science and innovation for the country’s economic benefit. The Kō at the institute, designed and carved by Riki Manuel, is a symbolic representation of a traditional digging stick. This artwork embodies the connection between AgResearch and traditional farming practices, highlighting the institute’s commitment to integrating cultural heritage with modern agricultural advancements. The steel aspects of the Kō were crafted and installed by Art Fetiche, further enhancing the artwork’s significance as a powerful symbol of respect for the land and the importance of sustainable farming practices.
